Left Handed Ponderings: Is it just me or is it a left-handed thing?
We were asked by a Club members whether any of us also have problems with greeting people with a kiss, either on one or both cheeks. She said that she often ended up bumping noses or planting the kiss firmly (and embarrassingly) on the other persons lips because she always seemed to start on the wrong side. We thought about is and realised that we all do the same – it IS a left-handed thing!

The life of the left-handed is not always easy. Social stigmas still prevail, and many everyday tasks that right handed people never think twice about are difficult for a leftie. With only 7-10 percent of the population on their side, left-handed folks tend to be male which means that left-handed females are truly a minority.

All those parents in the ’70s and ’80s who made their left-handed children struggle to use their right hands may be kicking themselves right about now. As it turns out, left-handers might have the advantage in certain areas like, say, piloting a jet fighter or talking and driving at the same time. A study published in the journal Neuropsychology in late 2006 suggests that left-handed people are faster at processing multiple stimuli than righties.
