Days 144-148 (217 Days to go)
One night last week, I was feeling swamped with real estate work, vacation rental stuff, Greg being out of town, and housework. I told the kids I was feeling really stressed and that they would do well to get in bed and not argue or cause me anymore stress. While I was working on a contract, Abby came into the office and rubbed my shoulders. She told me I had a surprise in my bedroom. When I finally made it to bed, I saw that she had cleaned my room and left me a sweet note. I am a very lucky mom.
We spent the weekend relaxing and walking in Georgetown. It’s a good thing we walk a lot because we tried the new breakfast cafe – Whistlestop Cafe, ate dinner at the Alpine, shared a chocolate malt at End of the Line, and shopped at our favorite grocery store Kneisel & Anderson’s for snacks. We also took Logan to his last performance of Carmen in Central City. Whew.
The weekdays have continued to mean running at City Park with my friends. It’s been a great way to start the day. The last two days I haven’t even needed my alarm despite being up until 2 a.m. this morning (I discovered that I can’t take sudafed and still sleep). I had a lot of fun reading a book about English gardens though. Speaking of English things, I have a new client from England. On our first day of looking at houses, we discovered that his parents were married at the country hotel I worked at in Waleshttp://www.gliffaeshotel.com/. I can’t believe it’s been 22 years since I worked there. In 2000, I planned a trip back to England just before Logan turned 2 so I would only have to pay for one ticket. We booked a couple of nights at Gliffaes and planned to spend the rest of the time in London with my friend Mandy. Right before the trip, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoma. Greg helped me make plans. We canceled my trip, my brother and sister-in-law packed up Dad’s apartment, and Dad moved in with us while he went through chemo. Instead of traveling to the UK, Logan and I spent our spare time in the hospital. Thankfully, Dad went on to a full recovery and has been cancer free since that time. We chalk up his health to an amazing doctor http://www.denvertherapies.com/who finally figured out what was wrong with him, an ornery cat that wouldn’t leave his side, lots of milk shakes, and family. I never did get to use the ticket that year. I was busy with Loganberrys (my antique business), a deli Greg and I started, teaching at Metro, and taking care of my family. I think it’s time I find time to make my way back…

Isn’t it incredible when you look back at your life and see all of the things you have done! I’m so glad your dad continues to be well, and so sorry we missed Logan’s performances! Arrived back in Denver at 8:30 last night after a long long drive from Vegas. Good to be home…see you soon!
